Richard started with IPM in November 2006 after completing a Bachelor of Science Degree with the University of Tasmania. His main areas of study were in the areas of chemistry and environmental management.

Richard previously worked at Hobart Pathology as a laboratory technician in the microbiology department. In this position he gained a good understanding of laboratory systems and microbiology.

Richard currently manages the laboratory whilst providing support for the occupational hygiene team.

Richard has had experience in workplace exposure monitoring, including:

  • Inhalable dust
  • Respirable dust & crystalline silica
  • Asbestos & synthetic mineral fibre
  • Indoor air quality monitoring
  • Occupational noise exposure assessments
  • Asbestos surveys & development of asbestos registers
  • Monitoring of asbestos removal work

Outside work Richard enjoys an active lifestyle playing and coaching a number of sports. These include cricket and basketball.
