| Richard
started with IPM in November 2006 after completing a Bachelor of
Science Degree with the University of Tasmania. His main areas of study
were in the areas of chemistry and environmental management. Richard
previously worked at Hobart Pathology as a laboratory technician in the
microbiology department. In this position he gained a good
understanding of laboratory systems and microbiology. Richard
currently manages the laboratory whilst providing support for the
occupational hygiene team. Richard has had
experience in workplace exposure monitoring, including:
- Inhalable dust
- Respirable dust
& crystalline silica
- Asbestos &
synthetic mineral fibre
- Indoor air quality
monitoring
- Occupational noise exposure assessments
- Asbestos surveys & development of asbestos registers
- Monitoring of asbestos removal work
Outside work Richard enjoys an active lifestyle playing and
coaching a number of sports. These include cricket and basketball.
